Olivia Dopp - A Children's Theater Production Camp

at the Pinetop Lakes Recreation Center

July 10th - 14th / One week only

Monday through Friday 9:00am to 12:00pm

Free to PLA memebers - limit 8 students

Open to 4 to 12 year-old students

In this workshop your children will learn two to three music numbers with choreography. There will be a presentation at the end of the week. We will be playing games designed to teach the children acting skills.

Introduction to Glass Blowing

Learn the basics of glass blowing in the cool pines of Pinetop, Arizona. At nearly 8000 feet elevation July is the perfect month to get away from the valley heat for the weeekend.

 

Wait... did I just say get away from the heat. You will be getting a little hot during the glass blowing class. HA! This workshop will be limited to 4 people. You will learn the basics of a hot shop and then move into practice drills on topics like gathering and shaping the glass followed by starter bubbles. You will be introduced to the tools of the glass blower and what it takes to be a glass artist. You will come away from this class with a number of objects, including a drinking glass, flowers and ornaments. You will need to find your own accomodations. A number of small motels around Pinetop are available.

 

Classes will be offered three consecutive weekends in July.

Introduction to Glass Blowing

 

 

Learn the basics of glass blowing while under the beautiful arches of the world famous Arcosanti community. Located a little over an hour North of Phoenix. Take that class you have always wanted to in an uber creative enviornment.

 

This three-day workshop starts Friday evening. The class will be limited to 6 people. Friday Night we will learn the basics of a hot shop and then move into practice drills on topics like marving and gathering on Saturday. You will be introduced to the tools of the glass blower and what it takes to be a glass artist. Sunday will be spent making drinking glasses and such. You will come away from this class with a number of objects, including a drinking glass, flowers and ornaments.

Also, we are still in planning stages to have another Halloween Glass Blowers Ball. It would take place on Saturday the 28th. Last year was so fun and we made some really great colobrative work. If your here for the workshop youll be able to take part by default.

 

Intermidiate to Advanced Workshop - Development of Concept

As part of the Acosanti Artist CONVERGANCE Forum- November 10, 11 and 12.

Participants will have the opportunity to work with me one-on-one, or in teams to devlope and execute a particular project. This class will be less about skillbuilding and more about using glass in your personal work.

This workshop will coincide with and have as memebers particpants from the Convergance Art colobriation. More details to come!

Make Your Own

Sign up for a small experiences class. This will be your opportunity to make you own ornament and or drinking glass with instructor guided assitantace.

Dates to be Determined - If your interested just let me know when is convient for you and will find a way to get you in the schedual.

- New - Saturdays 2:00 to 5:00pmThis Year I will be offering an extra class on Saturday afternoon. This class is design to be taken by students cuncurrently enrolled in either of my Wedesday classes. The idea is that the student will benifit from the twice a week class structure. Often we loose what we don't practice, many students have asked for this.
